A Message from Marilyn Harryman:

Our mission is to provide the community at large with relevant guidance information and to support and feature student success.

Representing Counseling Services for the district from 1991-2000, and as creator, producer, and host of CCC Live!, it has been a unique opportunity and privilege to reach out to students, staff, parents, and community with information to support and feature student success through live, interactive, call-in, cablevision on our own KDOL TV, Cable Channel 18.

The office of counseling services pioneered this format Fall 1994. We have been featured presenters at the Calif. Assn. for Counseling and Development statewide conference as a model for other districts to emulate.

IN 1995, beginning with students and staff from KDOL, a partnership with The East Bay Consortium , and a new Notions Grant from the Marcus A. Foster Institute , the office of counseling services was able to increase the visibility of many student centered programs and essential guidance information.

CCC Live! has been possible through continued financial and administrative support by the East Bay Consortium, through grants from the California Student Aid Commission; district support through state and federal programs, KDOL TV 18, Department of Student, Family and Community Services; the students and staff of the highly acclaimed Title One Homework Hotline, an after school, student-run program that has been the pathfinder for CCC Live; and since 2001, PROJECT SOAR has provided funding to ensure that the program is produced and provides opportunity for SOAR students and staff.

For information or comments on CCC Live! or how you might participate, please call the Office of Counseling Services at 510-879-1996, 510-882-8540 cell or contact me through e-mail:marilynhar@aol.com
